The time has come, and I am so excited. Yes, excited! I’ve been wanting to get ads going for ages (no really, ages), and I’m so happy that’s it’s finally (finally) happening.

A lot of people see blog ads as a negative, but I don’t think it has to be like that. Because I’ve built my entire reputation on my integrity, and that integrity remains unwavering. I see advertising as an extension of my mission – a way to bring attention to the very best businesses, blogs, and products that I’ve thoroughly vetted and can happily stand behind. It’s a way for me to help readers connect with brands that they’ll love, because anything that appears in that sidebar will have my personal stamp of approval.

Monetizing this blog is also the only way to make it sustainable. I think it’s clear from the quality of the content here, I put a lot of time into this place. And I love it, and I wish I could do it for free forever, but that’s just not the reality of my life anymore. Mama needs to get paid, dig?

This is what a blogger looks like. Phone in hand, always always always. This job never stops. And oh how I love it – and oh how I hope to do it forever! ♥ ♥ ♥

So anyway, here’s the deal. Because well hello transparency, why not?

Bonzai Aphrodite averages 130,000 pageviews per month. There, I said it out loud (but seriously, why are bloggers SO scared to spill their stats??!) Oh also, my audience is mostly female, mostly in their thirties, and mostly college educated. Also, almost exclusively AWESOME.

So hello, potential advertisers! If you have a small business or a big business or an Etsy shop or a blog or a website or a cool new project that you think my readers would enjoy supporting, you can check out advertising options and rates here on my ads page. Please email me (info AT bonzaiaphrodite DOT com) before purchasing ad space, so that we can make sure we’re a good match.

Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you!

One thing that is hard to miss is how sunny and bright and happy the background of all your photos are since leaving PDX for Santa Barbara. As someone who lives in the Northwest, I covert the sunshine in all of your photos. I think is really adds positively to the BA aesthetic. =)

Congratulations on all you years of hard work too. 130k views a month is a significant milestone.

  • Rachel from The Vegan Mishmash

Congratulations! You absolutely should be paid for what you do. You’ve contributed so much to the vegan community and your blog is one of the reasons I became vegan! <3

Agree with all the previous comments. This site is gold, and you deserve to make some money for all your hard work. Rock on!

  • Jen

I’m so happy you will be getting paid for all your hard work! I’ve been wanting you to get paid for years–especially since it’s always bothered me how many things I’ve bought because of you and you were never compensated! (Like Sock Dreams, those glass straws, Sun Warrior protein powder, etc.) I was so happy when you started doing those affiliate links so you can get a little kickback for those supplements you recommend. Wishing you all the best!

  • Maritza

Good for you!!! You’re @##$% awesome!

  • lexie

Congratulations! Knowing you get paid for this will make me happy. And you’re right about the whole integrity/ads thing; I hate it when I go on a blog and find random whatever ads. Anyone who reads your blog will know it’s a good thing :)

  • skeptk_vegan

I support you 100% in this! I will do my best to launch my blog soon and hopefully be approved by you to hold an ad space. Congratulations Sayward!! I’m happy to see your ads are at least relevant and useful. High-five! :)

  • Minna T.

I’m just curious: how do you know what gender, age and education your readers have?

Also, I think ads can be very useful for readers that are new to the vegan lifestyle so it’s definitely a good thing :)

  • Tara

I’m always down to be called ‘awesome’! Which is true, by the way, along with all other demos. I have purchased several things from herbivore because you introduced us, and I fully agree with everyone else that you should be compensated for your thorough and fantastic blogging.
