The What We Ate Wednesday That Wasn’t

I did take pictures. They were really pretty and all, full of raw goodness. But then . . . there was . . . the teething.

OH. MY. GOD.

And so it is with sheer exhaustion and a deficit of patience that I bring to you these very few photos, from a happier time . . . from this afternoon, when there was a green juice party on my kitchen floor.

I sure do love those two.

I drink a green smoothie and a green juice damn near every single day.
What foods do you eat daily?

Chocolate, I eat chocolate almost every day. Well I live in Switzerland and it would be rude not to. Amazingly, I still have all of my own teeth.

I eat Peanut Butter everyday :)

Oats, steel cut. Every single day. Usually with jalapeno-apricot preserves stirred in if I don’t have any fresh berries.

Coffee. I still manage to get in a cup of tea and my green smoothies most days, but if something gets left behind on a busy day, it’s never coffee. I drink decaf as much as the full-throttle stuff, so it isn’t a caffeine thing.

Some sort of seed or nut butter, every day, usually mixed with some blackstrap molasses. And sometimes straight from the jar, if no one’s looking!

I brought my first batch of raw oats with me to work this morning, YUM.

    Holy cuteness! :)

We also drink a green smoothie at least once a day. Other things we eat daily include green tea, apple/banana with nut butter, chocolate (but I’m trying to change that, lol!), blackstrap molasses, and hello, MMM- a green salad!

And I can commiserate with you on the teething! My almost 7 month old is trying to get his first two teeth through and is absolutely miserable. My first had no problem popping teeth, so this is totally new for me. It’s horrible…

I can sooo relate on the teething thing! My little Lilah is 17 months old and is cutting 4 teeth. I don’t know how I managed to sleep last night.

We have a bit of coconut oil in breakfast just about every day. Molasses also. Monika- BS molasses mixed with nut butter, what an awesome idea! I’m saving up for a fancy pants juicer so that I can add green juices to the list:) Right now my method is a bit time consuming and I juice only once or twice a week.

Ooh! I also do coffee, blackstrap, and some sort of nut butter pretty much every single day. Mmmm

Ha! Your little one is getting teeth my Daughter just got her first wiggly tooth! So here we go again! I hope Waits feels ok. My guys always got fevers and stuffy noses when cutting really tough teeth.
Anyway, as for everyday foods…for me it’s coffee and thanks to you I’ve been drinking nettles! We have sooo much growing wild were I live. I could dry it and sell it!

I must make seaweed chips every day. When my son goes down for a nap, I pop some in the oven, and then in my mouth (saving a few for him of course!). So good! On a side note, I’ve been wanting a juicer for ages, but broke down and took your advice and just made it in my food processor. Holy smokes was it good! I did a pea shoot, apple, lime juice, and ended up having to add a dash of water because it just wouldn’t puree. What a beautiful color though! Is there something with more nutrients I can add instead of water to help it along? Anyway I’m hooked, it was out of this world.

Ever since I started expanding my fruit/veggie horizons, I’ve eaten raw carrots and cucumbers every day. Which would be totally unbelievable to any of my family! lol Also have done a green smoothie probably half the days in the last month (a vast improvement). Hope the teething goes quickly!!

I definitely need to eat leafy greens almost everyday- and if that isn’t the case, then I need at least 2 meals worth of veggies and fruit. I don’t really have specific foodstuffs though… whatever I can afford at the time. My current favorite is kale sauteed with a bit of garlic and juice from 1/2 a lemon. Yum! :)

I drink about a pint of banana peanut butter smoothie daily, followed by a cup of coffee. It’s a ritual.

I drink a smoothie everyday, too! I’d love to juice everyday, but right now, it’s a few times a week because of cost & time!

Adorable photos!! Sorry about the teething fiasco… No fun. :(

OMG Waits just gets cuter (and probably more mischievious!) by the day! what a darling :)
I am pretty bad but I’ve been trying to cut out meats in most meals (hard with a fully blown carnivore boyfriend) and instead eating more fruits, vegetables and I know it’s not vegan but more yoghurt/cheese etc for this baby growing in me.
Am moving home to NZ in two days! AND the carnivore is following me there in a week, can’t wait to see my family again.
