The Imagery of Bonzai Aphrodite

September 17th, 2010 - filed under: Furthermore » Feedback

In anticipation of future projects (coming soon!), I’ve been scouring old Bonzai articles for photos that jump out at me. I’m putting together a collection of the best pictures from the site, and I’d love your input! I’m particularly interested in the images that you think ‘stand alone’, those that you consider worthy of, say, wall hanging.

Here are a few of my favorites – I’d love it if you linked to yours!

Yay, photo game! GO!

It’s probably only worthy of wall hanging to me, but this picture of Nina and Hedda makes me swoon every time I look at it: my two bossiest girls

@ windycityvegan – Oops! Re-reading this I see that it wasn’t as clear as I thought it was. I’m actually hoping for people’s thoughts on photos from this site, ie Bonzai photos. But clearly I didn’t communicate that very well! =D I’ll edit it.

But, I’m glad for the mistake because HOLY CRAP that picture you linked to is adorable!

@Sayward – I suspected as much…but I really wanted to show off my kid!

    @ windycityvegan – I’m so glad you did! =D

First and foremost: the sunflower FOR SURE!!
All the rest are great. I love the blueberries and the flower pic right after that. You nursing Waits is fabulous too! Man, this is hard. I love em all but I think those four are my favs… :D

I think I’d buy a book with all the pics from your trips to the farmer’s market and your garden.

Also, a calendar with photos of Waits. He is CUTE.

Bah, who am I kidding? I love every single pic on the recipes too! In fact, just publish a book with photos, and it’ll be in my wishlist.

The only photos I would probably never buy from your site are the ones showing the plated dish in the Tangerine Tofu recipe. They are gorgeous photos, but you should never do that with the chopsticks, as they remind of the buddist tradition of lighting incense to pay respects to the dead… Sorry, I’m a perfectionist.

My absolute favorite is the picture of you nursing Waits at the museum (I even saved it on my computer when you first posted it, because it was so beautiful). *Love* it so much, just stunning!

I absolutely agree with Tenise. I like the second one also. I do know there are other ones you have posted that I thought were striking at the time, I just have to remember where…

I am probably the only who will think so, but the picture of the carrots is my favorite. The colors and textures are absolutely wonderful.

The artichoke blossoms, carrots and giant sunflower are pictures I would pay for to frame and hang on my wall, as well as a lot of the farmers’ market pictures.

I also really really really love the picture of you nursing in the museum…I wouldn’t hang it on my wall, but it is still one of my favorite pictures you’ve shared on your site.

I forgot to mention my love for this photo as well. (even if they are evil hungry bugs!)

of the photos you’ve posted, the one of you and the baby in the gallery is worthy of being a stand alone. nicely shot, though I wish the water bottle wasn’t visable.

I love the one of you breastfeeding. As a mother who breastfed my children, you see the exquisite beauty in such a small moment.

i love the sunflower and the radishes so pretty, and the museum pic is so beautiful and realistic and idealistic …. i love it! although like the others i’m not sure i could hang it on my wall however if there was a small book on a vegn pregnancy and low impact child rearing that could be printed out or bought for a reasonable price like a collection of your preggo articles and such… i can’t say that i would be opposed to such a thing lol
