♥ Rebel Rebel. ♥

This week included many, many tacos, which pretty much makes it guaranteed awesome, don’t you agree? Tacos and potential new opportunities presenting themselves totally unexpectedly. Which is also very awesome.

This week was also reactions and reckonings. Reflection. And recalibrating.

A good week, indeed. Here’s what it looked like:

TACOS! Jeremy made us “clean out the fridge” breakfast tacos last Sunday morning, right before I left town for a little so cal road trip. They were awesome.

I was visiting my friend Joni in Long Beach, and this is my new bestie, the sweet little rescue mutt Annie. She insisted on siting in my lap nonstop, and would whine and bark the second I stopped petting her.

Theres Joni! Sunday was all about a gang of girls, hanging out in her back guest house (which is RAD), eating and chatting and playing original Atari late into the night.

Delicious jackfruit tacos, by Joni.

Exploring downtown Long Beach for the first time. ♥

Korean tofu + kimchi tacos from Sura, duuuuuuudes. ♥ ♥ ♥

Valentine’s Day, back in Santa Barbara with my little fam. We had Waits on Valentine’s this year, so we let him choose a restaurant for our family “date”. He chose Thai food (of course). It was a perfect Valentine’s Day dinner, if you ask me.

My precious.

Finishing awesome fermentation projects that I started way back in January (it’s so delicious!).

Vegan chocolate gelato dates.

And of course, more tacos! These beauties were buffalo cauliflower, tempeh crumble, cabbage, avocado, and vegan ranch. EPIC.

And now, it’s time for the one, the only, Le Love List!

Soup! Spicy Korean clear broth soup. Tangy Thai Tom Kha soup. Hearty Sri Lanken curry dahl soup. I’m basically just over the moon for SOUP this winter! // The look of absolute glee on the faces of my kindergarteners as they taste broccoli flowers for the first time. And clamor for more and exclaim “Wait, you can eat this? This is soooo good!” // Finding notes and cards that Jeremy hid all around the house on Valentines day. He really is the best. ♥ // Spicy black tea. // Rachel Maddow. // Community & Comedy (the two pillars of my “Surviving Trump” strategy). // Morning meetings with powerful movers and shakers in Santa Barbara. Spending my spare time in activism is keeping me going, these days. // Waits has discovered the delightful absurdity of Yellow Submarine, which is now his favorite song. (Thanks Jeremy! Yay Beatles!) // Watching Jeremy charm the pants off an entire room of patrons. // Crystal shopping with 5 and 6 year olds. // A roudy private party of theatre folks who filled up our wine bar, spent a few hours hooting snd hollering, and then suddenly all sat down and played the most exciting game of BINGO I’ve ever witnessed. // Waits’s new nickname for me, “Momazing” which, I’m told, is short for “Amazing Mommy”. I mean geeze — you just can’t even make this stuff up. ♥

Alright guys, now it’s your turn! I really love reading your own Le Love Lists, so please leave them down in the comments below. What are the little things in your life that make you smile this week?

Happy Sunday, I hope you have a most wonderful week!

  • Elisabeth Graf

I love Waits’ jacket! I have been looking for one just like it. Do you remember where you got it?

  • http://bonzaiaphrodite.com/ Sayward Rebhal

It was a secondhand score! I’ve seen quite a few like that on Etsy.

  • Rebecca Carnes

    Momazing! Love that ;)

As a theatre stage manager I back up your observation that theatre folk know how to turn the party dial up to 11 and simultaneously switch to the quietest, most attentive audience and are a heck of a lot of fun to play the card game Werewolf with! Annie <3 what sweet adoring eyes! I imagine Joni's tacos could heal any ailment, as well as that blood like elixir.

Luv Listing: sending mail and being helped by my favourite person at the post office/dandelion tea/blue skies & kabocha for days/my sister's blue pit-bull parading around the house with my large spiky neon-green therapy ball in his mouth and to that, good deep muscle release!
