The Weekend Send-Off

Oh hai, where am I, what day is it? Ahhh, Friday you say, well that’s nice then.

Hello hello! Haaaaaaappy weekend, with many “oi!’s” and much much love and oh my goodness, thank goodness for the goodness of the weekend. I’m so glad it’s finally Friday! We’ve got pumpkin patches, apple festivals, and fancy restaurant reservations. Oh, and many bottles of wine to carry us through (1 down, 3 to go!)

It’s gonna be a good weekend . . .

Le Love List:

1. My In-Laws Visiting
One of the little things I love about having house guests is that I get to buy the fancy-pants coconut creamer, which I won’t justify for just myself and which I shouldn’t be drinking all the time anyways, but which I do so adore and which makes my coffee ever so tasty. Yay!

2. My In-Laws Visiting
One of my favorite things about having house guests is the cleaning frenzy that the event always inspires. Bathrooms are sparkling, stovetop has been scoured with baking soda, and downstairs carpet has finally been vacuumed (oh man that was way overdue). A very clean house is so very nice. Yay!

3. My In-Laws Visiting
Oh hey, did I also mention that my in-laws are freakin’ rad? (I am so lucky) (but then, Damian is awesome so it makes sense that he comes from awesome roots) We always have fun and play and relax and debate and take long long walks and laughter and laughter and yes, lots of laughter. They are spectacular people and I am so happy that they’re here. YAY!

Also! my very first xgfx cake project which is delicious, the frosting failure of said cake project that I was able to laugh off (at least the baked part – the hard part – was successful!), self-discovery, walks with my girlfriends, finding the Portland Rhododendron Garden and how amazingly incredibly beautiful it is, the words “marry me” written it white rocks at the bottom of a crystal-clear shallow pond, snuggling my doggies in a big puppy pile on the couch, quiet dinners all by myself (!!!) (did you catch that?? by! my! self!), being myself and being authentic and trying to figure out who the hell “myself” is . . .

~~~
Alright guys, now it’s your turn – tell me what you’re loving this week!
My darlings, this happy little post will stay at the top of the page all weekend until tomorrow because it’s MoFo time y’all, and I’m still POSTING EVERY DAY! However . . . stop by any time to leave your Love List, ask a question, or offer some feedback! Or if you’re new, please introduce yourself and say ‘Oi!’! This is your community, so get involved!
What are you doing this sweet autumn weekend? Whatever it is, I hope that you’re making your very own magic!
  • Citycandy
    Are you having a micro breakdown?
  • http://bonzaiaphrodite.com/ Sayward Rebhal
    Haha, that obvious huh? ;-)
  • daoine o’
    you mentioned ‘oh-so-fancy coconut creamer’…i usually just use the plain unsweetened version in the half-gallon for doffee and anything else. but i had a dream come true yesterday. ‘so delicious’ now makes coconut *nog* for the holidays!
    the natural food store i work at just brought it out on the dairy shelf yesterday. i am in *love*! promptly bought it and devoured almost the whole quart at once. i hear it’s fabulous in coffee as well. if i can keep from drinking it straight i may have to try that…
    They’re making a chocolate peppermint flavored one too! I can’t *wait* to try both of them.
    Falling in Love with Bikram yoga this week. Oh and the weekend will be fantastic because my mom is visiting!
  • Lickllc
    Hey, if you’re running out of things to post about, you could always post about those scrumptious doggies….just sayin’….
  • Melisa
    1)A whole weekend off work.
    2)A real, live, adult Halloween party to go to for the first time in many years! (I LOVE Halloween. A lot.)
    3)My hubster, who is sweet and wonderful.
    Sorry you’re having a bit of a tough time, Mz Sayward. Hopefully your weekend will be rejuvenating.
  • Moira
    1. Fall weather! I can’t get enough.
    2. Re-detoxing myself with Bikram yoga after a month and a half long hiatus. Oh the pain.. but it will be so so worth it.
    3. *Almost* finished with this term’s finals. I will be a happy girl come Sunday night.
    4. Renewed in my PhD program. It is rough, exhausting, kinda kills the brain and partially your soul at times. But then you talk to that one person who makes you feel whole again. I am so thankful for that.
    5. My husband’s magical culinary skills. I don’t know how he does it. He just does.
    6. My husband. Nuff said.
    Have you tried making your own coconut creamer? When Angelo gets his fancy going, he makes his own with a regular (or light) can of coconut milk, brews it with cinnamon, vanilla, agave, and/or I don’t know what else. But it turns out oh so divine in coffee.
    fancy restaurant reservations and pumpkin patches?! Seems like we have a good chance of running into each other this weekend. Where you headed?! Also, VERY jealous of your amazing in-laws. ‘Nuff said.
    I know everyday blogging must be super tiring, but I love, learn and appreciate each and every blog post! Thank you!!!
    1. Finally having a free weekend! It has been such a great month, but SO busy. Yesterday I napped! Today I cleaned the floors (like really cleaned them, not the quick wipe down that’ve been getting), and tonight I will snuggle with Boyfriend while watching TV, then go to bed early!!! I’m very excited.
    2. New kittens are the best thing ever.
    3. Having time to get work done on our perpetually unfinished house.
    Sayward, I always love your blog particularly in fall. Not sure if it’s just your enthusiasm and love that comes through, or the colors and food, or just the general energy, but it’s become a favorite. Happy weekend!
    Your eyes are gorgeous in that photo! It sounds like you have a super fun weekend planned, it’s awesome that you have such rad in-laws.
    Weekend love list: visiting my siblings at my alma mater and eating at all the incredible vegan-friendly spots I’ve missed, visiting the grandparents and getting WF hot bar, time to myself, snuggles with my kitty, and bottling my newest kombucha batch!
  • Kathryn B
    So glad you have rad in-laws!
    My love list consists of 1) having a free weekend! Having a big family and being apart of the community is great but leaves little down time. This weekend is my first free weekend in months and my only free one in the near future. Sine were home my husband 2) cleaned the whole yard today and got everything ready for winter. 3) while my husband tackled the yard I deep cleaned my whole house top to bottom! It feels so go to gets stuff done and be home!
    Thank you for such a sweet comment, and welcome to the site!
    Leslie!!!! It was SO wonderful running into you, even if it couldn’t have come at a worse time because I was in my rattiest clothes and hadn’t showered in 2 days and my eyes started watering which they do when I get embarrassed . . . oh god, what a mess I am! But still, it was such a pleasure to meet you. Next time you’re here we should set up a proper get-together!
  • http://bonzaiaphrodite.com/ Sayward Rebhal
    I do!
