“Get Out The Bonzai!” Month – Mini Mission #3

September 13th, 2010 - filed under: Furthermore » Monday Monthly Mission

As you probably know by now, we’re deep in the thick of our official Get Out The Bonzai! month. That means we’re pausing our standard MMM and making a push to promote Bonzai Aphrodite. I totally rely on word-of-mouth to get the word out, so this is such a huge help. Thank you guys for all you’re doing!

The first mini mission was to follow @BonzaiAphrodite on Twitter. I’ve had so much fun over the past 2 weeks, tweeting with all of you and getting to know the Twittersphere. Who knew it was so rad in there?!

Our second mini mission was to join the BA Facebook page. Yay social media! And, I totally forgot that Facebook doesn’t alert me when somebody posts on the BA page, so I *just* saw all those messages. Thanks guys!

This week’s tasks are twofold, but they’re both so super simple.

First, if you’re not already subscribed, please add my RSS feed! Insta-Bonzai!

Second, if you’re a blogger, please please add me to your blog roll! In related news, Damian and I are working on putting together an entire collection of awesome sites – the BA master blogroll – and of course I’ll want to add all of your blogs to that list. Soon I’ll be asking for those URLs, so don’t worry – if you add me I promise it’s a fair trade!

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!

    Alrighty Sayward…done.

PS, I hope you like the blog. I just started it, so it’s kind of like a BLAGH (outstreches arms akwardly like a trex)

PS…even though the title has ‘meat’, it really has nothing to do with donkeys except in the spiritual animal sense.

    Consider it done!

I need to update my blog a bit, I haven’t had the motivation to write thanks to ex-pat jitters and homesickness, but you’ve inspired me to do my own interpretation of ‘Get Out The Bonzai’ !

Done and done! And this is just the motivation I need to update my three blogs.

    Twitter- Done, Facebook- Done.

Your facebook links above just take me to my own home page & not to yours. I did a search so no biggie but just in case folks want the easy way out >>>

I’ve been subscribed to your rss for nearly a year now, and you’re on my blogroll at http://www.endomental.com. You may prefer my other blog, http://www.iheartrhody.com, though.

  • littlegreenlady

    What exactly is an rss?
I looked it up, but now feel a bit confused.

  • http://bonzaiaphrodite.com Sayward

Awesome, thanks guys! I’m excited to check out all these blogs as I put the page together. =)

@ Sarah D. – Thanks for the heads up, it should be fixed now.

@ littlegreenlady – RSS is a way to aggregate all your favorite blogs in one place. So you have all the latest updates/new posts showing up in your ‘feed’ instead of having to check each blog by hand.

I think you can set your Facebook settings to send you an email every time someone posts something to the page…..I mean, that’s the way it happens on my page. Maybe you don’t want to be bombarded with emails though. *shrug.

  • http://bonzaiaphrodite.com Sayward

@ Tenise Rae – I get emails when people post on my personal FB, but not the Bonzai page (which is a ‘fan’ page, I guess it’s different?) I need to poke around in the settings and see if it’s something I can change . . .

  • Minna

Both Twitter and Facebook are done (did that a long time ago!) and if only I had a blog, I would *totally* have you already added to my blogroll! #1!

I’ve beeen thinking about starting a vegan blog in Estonian to spread The Message over here, too (I swear 99% of Estonians don’t even know what “soy” is), but I’m not sure if I’m the right person to do that… I would constantly have to update the blog and come up with stuff like you do! Cook, clean and experiment :)

I’ve got BA in my google reader feed, though truth be told, I always check the site, just cuz I love the design.

  • http://theamberlily.com/ Lily

Thanks for the link, Sayward. I’ll add yours to my blog tomorrow; I’ve just finished today’s posting and thought I would check out your blog before signing off for the night! I’m excited to see your community grow. :)

I’ve just added you to mine. I’m in the process of getting a more public blog together after several years of Live Journaling.

  • Crystal

I just want to let you know that whenever I talk to someone who wants to go vegan and doesn’t think they can or thinks it’s too hard or some silly excuse that never really flies with me anyway, I simply tell them to read vegan food blogs and always the first blog I mention is yours! Thanks for being amazing and keep up the great work! :-)

  • http://bonzaiaphrodite.com Sayward

@ Minna – Do it! Blog lady blog!

@ Crystal – That’s awesome, I love to hear that. I hope it helps them! =D
