Wise words.

Weird week, weird week. I guess I’ll continue to say it. But it was! I worked a bunch of extra hours this week, so it felt a bit like all work and no play. But then tonight, just now, Jeremy and I got some really amazing news (I’ll share more later, I promise). So now we’re feeling on top of the world, and we have a ton of fun things planned for the coming week, and hey — life is good!

Life is good. I’m going to make sure I keep reminding myself of that.

Here’s what another weird week looked like, ’round here:

The annual seed exchange at the Santa Barbara Public Library was so awesome! Bigger and better than I ever expected, there were so many local farms and non-profits and conservation groups. So many people participating . . . so many seeds! And info and speakers and a bluegrass band, to boot! Very fun. My kinda party.

Waits and I got to preview MOXI – the new Museum Of eXploration + Innovation that opens later this month. It’s so amazing! And beautiful and fun and science-tastic! We had a blast playing inside for hours. And isn’t it pretty?

They put all the noise-makers up on the roof, haha.

And the view from the roof of our beautiful city. I’m really feeling the California love these days. ♥

We hosted a super unique event at the wine bar: Meditation & Wine! The brain child and baby of Jeremy, I’ve never heard of anything quite like it. Wines paired with guided meditations. Mindfulness. Gratitude. Self Love. We didn’t quite know what to expect, or if people would be into it. But it was a success! I never would have thought. But Jeremy knows what’s up.

And now, it’s time for the one, the only, Le Love List!

My birthday party! I somehow managed to take not one single photo of it, so words will have to suffice. It was sweet and love-filled and delicious, but not at all what I had expected. Instead of a rowdy mixer with music and madness, it ended up being a mellow-yet-passionate group of radicalized revolutionaries, all sitting around in a big circle, laughing and commiserating, yelling and crying, and plotting our resistance late into the night. A politics party. And honestly? It was everything I could have wanted from my birthday. It was perfect. // Hiking with my honey. // Dirt under my finger nails. // Friends that text you to remind you of protests. ♥ // When Jeremy and I were in Ojai a couple of weeks ago, we picked up a special candle as a gift for Waits — a candle that has a piece of real Obsidian hidden inside it (Waits is a lover of crystals, and particularly fond of Obsidian). We came home from the wine bar this week to find that he and his baby sitter had been burning the candle, and I’m so excited for him to finally unearth that Obsidian! // I’m also excited for him to lose his tooth, which is really extra super wiggly. See, his first tooth he lost, he swallowed it immediately. His next tooth he lost was at summer camp, and they wrapped it up in a gum foil and he put it away for safe keeping, except it fell out and was lost forever. And his third tooth he lost at his Dad’s house, and I didn’t get to see it. But I am a witch and I am his mom and I *need* this precious, powerful piece of him omg it’s not fair! Haha. But seriously this next one is MINE. // Overhearing Jeremy calling his congressman, yeah woke men are sexy af. // Art and Science, and being surrounded by friends who create both of those things. // Tyrion Lannister. // Jeremy is so freaking good at what he does. And I love seeing him do it. I love hearing him talk about wines with our customers, delighting them and sharing his knowledge. And I love seeing his innovation and creativity, in the cocktails he creates and the techniques he employs. I love watching him do what he does so well, and I am so proud to be his partner.

Alright guys, now it’s your turn! I really love reading your own Le Love Lists, so please leave them down in the comments below. What are the little things in your life that make you smile this week?

Happy Sunday, I hope you have a most wonderful week!

    Here’s my list:
Spending a super lazy sunday morning after 6 days of work // Planning to go back to Uruguay (where my family lives), after 3 years // Skypeing with my mum // Watching a tv-show (the crown in this case, but the tv show in itself is not important) with my boyfriend in the evening // Cooking together // Making him cookies // Long chats with friends, drinking tea // Learning calligraphy // Going to bed earlier and reading in the morning // Spending less time online

Deactivating my Facebook account // When my husband said, “I’ll definitely try that” when I said I was making Raw Vegan Pesto Pasta // Watching movies all day at home on Saturday // Drinking a smoothie while I read the newspaper // Starting a new journal.

You know, I’ve been reading for years and never really doing my own love lists, but this is like the third week in a row of me feeling compelled to play along — the world is so filled with angst that a little reflection on happy things feels really good. Maybe that’s item number one//another fantastic day snowshoeing under the bright blue skies, spotting a gorgeous coyote//STILL loving alt-NPS, more each day//little house projects that are making our home feel more like a home base//seed catalogs//my girl, who is dealing with upheaval in her life like a champ//exercise//the fact that my parents are moving next door to me very soon (ok, also a little scared about that one!!)

There have been times where the Love Lists seemed sort of compulsory for me, and my heart wasn’t totally in them. But recently? I have been getting SO much out of doing these. So I know what you mean. These days, a little gratitude goes a really long way. ♥

I just started watching Game of Thrones this weekend…. I know, SO far behind the times! I’m only on season 1 episode 4 but I absolutely love Tyrion! He is my fav character right now:) So my love list begins with him ha! And includes rainy days, long weekend naps w/ my little man while he’ll still snuggle with me and cacao smoothies…. we can’t seem to get enough right now!

Oh girl, we are so far behind too! It’s kind of fun to watch a show after everyone else already has. =)
