The Weekend Send-Off

Sweet snuggles with my sweet not-so-little-but-thinks-he’s-a-lap-dog dog.

Hello hello, and happy Friday to all of you out there in the ether. I’m in mommy bliss these days, as Damian is off in Las Vegas for a 10-day pool tournament adventure (National Championships – yes, I am proud of him!) which means I’ve had Waits all to myself all week long, and will have him all to myself for most of next week as well. It’s so nice to have those long chunks of time just me and him!

This weekend is supposed to be perfect, weather in the low 70s with full sun and that lovely ocean breeze we get. I’m imagining lots of outside time, beach play, hiking, parks, creek bed bouldering, and meetups with wee friends. So fun!

Just a heads up, I still have some spots open for coaching in August! If you’ve thought about dipping your toe into the plant-based waters, or if you’re already swimming around in here but maybe you want to “clean up” your diet or health routine, well now is a great time to go for it. Summer offers such bounty with all the fresh produce and so much amazing plant food to choose from. There really is just no better time to dive in!

So yeah, if you’re interested, hit me up and we’ll chat: info AT bonzaiaphrodite DOT com

And now for the bestest, the brightest, the big beautiful star that sits on top of every Friday -

Le Love List!

last Friday I was honored to be featured on the Allison’s Gourmet blog, where I chatted about vegan parenting, my very favorite recipes, and authenticity in blogging. Check it out! .|. the Violent Femmes station on Pandora .|. dining al fresco on my new (to me) teak table in my backyard .|. having friends over to dine al fresco in my backyard .|. hearing my neighbor’s song on the radio (while sitting in my car in naught but a bath towel, because I realized too late that I can’t actually *get* radio in my house because I don’t actually *have* a radio anymore) .|. the UK Daily Mail wrote a really offensive story about Amanda Palmer’s nipple slip at a recent concert. well, she had something to say sing about that. and that is why I love her, forever and for always. .|. long work days with massive productivity .|. getting giddy over work meetings and what they may bring .|. getting personal with you guys and just receiving so much happiness and support. You guys are awesome. YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME. .|. my bathroom sink has now been improved, it is fantastic .|. beach picnics and lazy beach days and generally being lazy for 3 days and what I basically guess I mean by that is, my stay-cation. It was so good. .|. Waits loved the Mutineers! .|. dinner with potential creative collaborators .|. the new Vegan Cuts BEAUTY BOX is on its way to me, eeeee!!! SO EXCITED! All sorts of amazing cruelty-free beauty products to sample, I CAN’T WAIT!!! .|. And finally, I am feeling more hopeful and happy than I have in ages. I feel scared and I feel daunted and I feel unsure in the face of all that I dream of accomplishing, but I also feel, for the first time in a long time, a strength that comes from way down deep inside of me. I lost that feeling years ago and I’d even forgotten that I could have it. This is the summer of dreaming and DOING, and this is the summer that’s changing me . . .

Alright guys, now it’s your turn – let me know what you’re loving this week!

This happy little post will stay at the top of the page all weekend, so stop by any time to leave your Love List, ask a question, or offer some feedback! Or if you’re new, feel free to just introduce yourself and say ‘Oi!’! This is your community, so get involved!

May your weekend be filled right up to the brim, with love and laughter and all that you dream for!

  • Monika {windycityvegan}

    You’re emanating some serious happiness from your love lists and posts these days. Enjoy your extended chunk of time with Waits!

    This week I’m loving my amazing daughter, who is equally obsessed with cribbage, learning how to rap, and zombies .|. having so many veggies coming out of my garden I could probably start my own CSA .|. putting in 15 additional pepper plants the other night on a whim, and preparing to put in twenty additional tomato plants tomorrow .|. long days and even longer nights .|. Krzysztof Kieślowski .|. getting ready to cut my barely-grown-out short hair even shorter .|. salad for breakfast and smoothies for dinner .|. my husband’s derriere .|. the insane heat and humidity of North Carolina (it’s the only thing keeping me here right now!)

    -Always, my boyfriend.
    -The extreme amount of generosity I experienced from other people on my last day of work.
