Woo-Hoo! Announcing The Bonzai Aphrodite Amazon Store!

September 6th, 2010 - filed under: Furthermore

Yay, I’m so excited! I’ve been working on this (ever so slowly but surely) for quite some time, but the conversation we started last week (still going! join in!) was just the kick in the butt I needed to finish things up. And why am I so happy? Well . . .

There are two main questions I get asked above all others:

  1. Where can I find product X? (coconut oil, castile soap, agar agar, etc)
  2. What can I use to accomplish task Y? (veganic gardening, spice grinding, etc)

So now there’s an awesome one-stop-shop, to answer all these questions! My Amazon store is specially stocked with products that I selected. I enjoy and endorse every single item, as either something I own . . . or something I wish I owned! You can shop assured that everything there has been vetted by yours truly. And of course, I’ll get a commission for every purchase. A win-win! But to be clear –

You know that I always advocate buying secondhand!!! So maybe you simply use the store as a shopping guide. Check out the items I recommend, then go find them used on Craigslist – I fully support it!

But, sometimes you want or need to buy new. So for those times . . .

This is seriously awesome!!! I have on my list of needed kitchen items replacement food storage containers that are NOT PLASTIC. I hadn’t found anything I liked yet but the Anchor Hocking ones you have listed on here AWESOME!!!!!! And lime green lids yes!!! My favorite thing ever… You are seriously the best ;) I buy as many things used as possible too but I also am addicted to Amazon and have a prime membership so this is the bomb. I’m currently selling my evil aluminum cookware to buy a cheaper stainless set so if I have leftover moolah I’m definitely going to purchase these and will let you know if they are sweet as the look ;)

Wow Sayward! This is truly impressive. I’m totally loving it!!
How often do you think you’ll be adding new products?…if at all…?

  • Minna

AWESOME! I want the cookbooks! I want all this stuff =D If I just decide to buy one book at first, which one would you recommend the most? I’m looking for simple and cheap, obviously. Hehe.

I think I’m going to request things from your shop for christmas and my birthday :) I’m so-so excited about the expansion of B. Aphrodite!

Yay! I’m so excited! This will help a lot with my transition to eventual veg*nism. Thank you!

Buy second hand and then hit the tip jar with the savings of buying second hand!

This is an awesome idea… I wonder if they ship everything to mexico… mmm…

    I second Erosan’s suggestions. :)

Great idea. I am browsing now and may add some items to my wedding registry or wishlist. Ina May Gaskin is vegan? Now I love her even more!

Yay! I’m so glad you guys are as excited about this as I am!

@ sarah – Aren’t the Anchor things just amazing?? I was beyond stoked to find that company. I mostly use mason jars for tupperware but sometimes ‘tall and skinny’ is all wrong. I’m dying for some Anchor stuff for my ‘short and wide’ needs, haha. If you do get some, let me know ow you like it!

@ Tenise Rae – I actually have a bunch of stuff, even whole new categories, that I hope to add over the next few weeks. Did you have anything in mind?

@ Minna – Hmmm, well if you were just going to get one cookbook, Veganomicon is considered the best of the best. Of course it’s also the most expensive! If you want something cheaper and simpler I’d go with Vive le Vegan. Super healthy but definitely tasty, really straightforward with not a lot of weird ingredients. Yeah, I think that one would be really good. =)

    @ erosan – Ha! I won’t argue with that!

@ Joselle – Yeah! She founded The Farm commune, which is all vegan and has been the subject of some of the best (some of the only!) longer term studies on veganism – especially veganism through pregnancy/breastfeeding and in children. <3

Everyone else – thanks for the comments and support, and I’m so thrilled you like my little shop. =)

Nothing in particular in mind….I was just curious how often I should check back. I’ll just keep checking back every week or so. *shrug. Oh and I love the Bobs Red Mill baking soda you found. I was having a real hard time finding non A&H brands of soda that knew if they tested on animals or not!! Rock on girl!
