Just a quick reminder my dears, this coming Friday is Bike To Work Day – the third Friday in May. This is, of course, in honor of bike month which spans the entire month of May. And serendipitously, all of this relates to the Monthly Mission this May, to drive less!

Alas, I work from home so I won’t be able to participate directly. *But*, I will be sending Damian off on his bike that day, and I encourage – no, beg! – each of you commuters to do the same. And if you’re interested in other events, you can see what’s going on for the rest of the month in your city, here. I must say – I’m jealous! (I’ll be thrilled when Waits is ready for something like this)

Just a friendly reminder from your favorite eco-cheerleader (that’s me!) Happy pedaling!

You could always just bike around the block!

By the way, you look great in the picture.

I work from home, so it’d be a short ride ;)
It’s a great concept though. Hubby and I are both looking into new bikes. I had to retire my college-era purple TREK mountain bike.
I am daydreaming something pink and girly these days :)

Why wait when you could put Wait in one of these ever so stylish and “not dangerous at all” Bike buggies!

When Waits is a year old, get him a bike helmet and definitely the iBert bike seat! I got my bike seat on Craigslist and front-mounted is so awesome. Your baby’s head is right in front of yours and the two of you can look at things together and talk and coo. Biking only gets better! :)

That looks so awesome! I wish I could bike to work. But the combination of distance plus needing a new bike prevents me. But I’ve been safely hypermiling to cut down on my gas consumption and exhaust production!

    @ Eric Normand – I thought about it! =D

@ Heather – Yes yes, bike day dreams can get me in a lot of trouble. My ultimate fantasy is to have one painted like a bumble bee, ha!

@ Richard – I see those around town all the time – they sort of intrigue me, and sort of terrify me! I don’t think I could deal with not seeing him though.

@ Sprgtime – Awesome, thanks for the rec! Good to hear some personal experience. =)

@ Courtney – Every little bit helps!

    This is great!

I recently acquired a new bike that was left at the flats my boyfriend’s grandparents house (so obviously I was the first choice or…something!)so I’ll be jumping on that in the next few weeks, but in spirit of today’s activities, I think it’s worth making it an unofficial ‘Skate-to-Work’ day as well!

Yes, I went and bought a skateboard… because as getting around the green way goes, I don’t think you can get any cooler. So this Friday I can be seen skating to University on my brand new (and already slightly scuffed) board and my new-ish Vegan Macbeths.
