That’s right, another giveaway! It must be all that V-day love that swirls around in February. And I’m especially excited about this one, because the sponsor is a super small business and a Bonzai reader to boot!
Cayce runs the adorable Etsy shop Sustainable Homestead, which offers handmade and eco-friendly re-usable alternatives to common trashable packaging. Check out her super cute lunchbox sandwich baggies, different sizes of produce and bulk bags, tons of patterns of lunchbox napkins and hankies, and cloth re-usable gift wrapping. All of the items are custom made by Cayce, and many of them are also upcycled for maximum green-ness!
Sustainable Homestead is offering a little sampler to one of my readers, including those two lovely lunchbox napkins pictured above, as well as an awesome ripstop nylon re-usable sandwich baggie (below). I’ve got these babies in my hands right now and I can assure you, they are super fun, super practical, and totally fabulous. I’ll have a hard time letting go of them!

All you have to do to enter is go visit Sustainable Homestead, check them out, and then come back here and leave a comment. That’s it. So good luck! (and go snap up something wonderful from Sustainable Homestead!!!)

I was just mentioning to my husband today that we need to buy some reusable sacks for our little ones lunches! These are great!

yeee, lunchbox goodies! If I don’t win this I might buy them anyway haha. I have a cloth sack to hold everything, but I use lots of bags. I try to use tupperware when possible, but sometimes the shapes are just so inconvenient for me to carry to and from school/work along with my books, and stuffing a little cloth bag inside my pack is just easier. Although I have been eying the tiered metal set from Herbivore for a while now…

Wow she has a great Etsy shop and everything is so bright and cheerful. I’ll have to drop by when I’m done with my money free week and get some veggie bags.

This is awesome, I just recently saw the first re-usable cloth sandwich (or even wrap) bag in my life, I had never heard of them before, and I totally fell in love with the idea. It is SO practical, it is cool and.. practical! Wrapping sandwiches in plastic is really annoying as well.
Sad that you’re gonna have to let go of them, I guess now you just gotta make your own! ;)

These are great! If I don’t win I’m sure to buy some. I was just thinking yesterday about how I go through too many of the plastic ones, even when I reuse them…

These would be awesome to pack my hubby’s lunch in! He uses tons of the plastic ones, so this would save so much!

omg so great! totally one of those concepts where i will not let myself buy it for months with the notion that i should totally make it all myself, and then will break down and buy up half the store half a year from now and be so glad i did.

These would make my life SO much easier. I’m always cramming sandwiches and things into akward shaped tupperware/olive bar sorts of containers for my lunch! I have a few reusies (similar!) but my husband packs his lunch before me and steals ‘em!

Upcycle was a new one for me too. The patterns on them help with eventual discoloration too! Twenty comments and I might well be the only guy here. =)

I love all the reusable baggies and “upcycled” hankies. I have recently gotten more into reusing and repurposing and I love that Cayce has repurposed some fabric to make a few items!! Will definitely get some of those ripstop nylon baggies :)

I’ve been wanting to make my own bulk bags and napkins, but haven’t gotten around to it yet, so that would be awesome. I added the shop to my favs so when I finally go “Screw it, I’ll just buy them” I know where to go.

I love the lunch bags. I bring my lunch everyday and go through a lot of plastic baggies. I use Rubbermaid containers for some things but for others they just don’t cut it. I have seen the produce bags at my health food store and have thought about getting them. When I think of all the trash just from shopping it is a really good idea. Thanks for the link to this site.

I am so glad someone has thought of this! My husband and I wrap our sandwiches in foil and reuse it until it just about disintigrates. I make my own hankies out of old T-shirts because they are soft, but flannel is softer so I think I will be switching. I love creative ideas and am glad you have shared her etsy site with us.
