The Friday Feedback Forum

June 13th, 2009 - filed under: Furthermore » Feedback

Oi there, and once again: Happy Friday! As always, here is your space for comments, critiques, thoughts, support, and suggestions.

This community of ours is continuing to grow, and I’d love to know what you’re thinking. Which section would you like to see expanded? (the food? the fashion? the farm?) What topics are you curious about? Which articles have been your favorites, and which ones were you disinterested in? What do YOU want to see?

Every weekend, the Feedback Forum hangs out at the top of the page for you to revisit. Check back and have your say, whenever you get the chance.  If you have an idea or a question or you just want to introduce yourself and say ‘Oi!’, this is the place to do it. Now, go forth and have the greatest weekend!

    Re: composting:

We’ve come up with (I think) a pretty clever way to get more ‘browns’ in our compost bin. I found a huge pack of brown paper lunch sacks that we are never going to use, so what I do is I use them to line the bowl I’ve been dumping my produce waste in. Then, every day instead of dumping out the bowl and having manky, drippy veggie juice all over, I just pull out the sack and throw the whole thing in the composter–the paper adds to the browns, and I’m getting rid of those sacks that were just taking up space in a kitchen drawer.

(and, our compost seems to be working–it smells loamy and composty, not rot-y, and when i put my hand in it’s a little bit warm and toasty. yay for compost!)

I’m always into food and gardening (the latter of which I see as very desirable means to the former :) ). I love your blog! :)

@ Amy – Ooh! Thanks for the reminder! I went out and stirred and sniffed my own heap, and everything appears to be in order. Thanks!

@ Homegrown Texan – Duly noted! And thanks!!!

Hello! I’ve been reading for awhile and wanted to say hi, and ask a question/make a posting topic suggestion.
I’d love to see you talk about refined sugar, and alternatives in cooking/baking. I’ve been doing my own fledgling research, and it’s difficult to figure out the details of the refining process, and how I can still bake the things I love with ingredients that are easy to find at the store.

@ Erin – Yes! If only I had all the time in the world, you know? That topic is definitely on my list of things to cover – unfortunately that list is very, very long. However at your request I will bump it up in the queue. =)

    Thanks for saying hi! Welcome!
