Polling! Polling! 1-2-3

Feedback time! Now that I’ve been blogging again for a while, I’d love to take a moment and touch base with all of you. I mean, I sure am having fun on this side of the screen, but I want to make sure you’re all having just as much fun over there. So tell me – which features are you liking? What do you want more of? And what about dislikes? Anything you want less of?

This kind of reader feedback is SO valuable to me, so pretty please will you take a moment to fill out the poll below? I want to make this site as informative and inspiring as I can, which means I need to know what you want! Oh, and you can vote more than once, so don’t worry about picking a very very favorite.

Edit: Lots of people are commenting that they wish they could vote on more than one thing. YOU CAN! (and also, thank you so much for wanting to, that is awesome) All you have to do is refresh the page and the poll will reappear – you can vote as many times as you like.

Thank you soooo much guys! Also, I’d love to hear more if you feel like elaborating in the comments. The good, the bad (I can take it! just be respectful), suggestions, complaints, ideas, whateva.

I have tons of inspiration and I always feel like there’s a million directions I could be going at any given time. So like I said, a little help narrowing the focus would be much appreciated.

Thanks again!

I love pretty much everything you post! Though, I would love to see more fashion related posts, maybe incorporate it into your “What I Ate Wednesday” posts like you have in the past. Overall, no complaints here. So glad you’re back to blogging.

Just so happy you’re back on the net! Puh-leeeze keep it up ;) I’m visiting Eugene/PDX for the first time this weekend, partially because of your writing about how great it can be up there! Thanks for the inspiration to expand my horizons :)

I particularly like reading thoughtful posts on existing as a vegan — and remaining sane, happy, and healthy — in a world where nearly everyone turns a blind eye to animal suffering.

  • Jennifer Miller

I want to vote for more than one :P
I found you right after you took a hiatus and have greatly enjoyed seeing you come back! I kind of love everything you put on here because you’re very down to earth. Many times I read blogs and think “this person has such a perfect life” because they don’t tend to share the ups and downs and trials and errors that EVERYONE goes through. This is why I appreciate you. No one is perfect, but you are perfectly you.

  • Carey

I would have liked to vote for more than one thing so the others I like our, weekends stuff, fashion stuff, food stuff and pictures.

  • Veganjesse

    Raising vegan kiddo stuff. :)

  • stacey

I vote how-tos because you do such interesting things to do, but I would like to see more of your outfits even though it’s not my style you always look great. I am SO glad you are back blogging!

I like how-to stuff but I’d like to see more tips on home decor and time management. also, how do you deal with technology and a toddler.

  • andrea

    Hm…that not fair..can’t choose just one :)

  • Lindsey

A new topic of the week: Raising Vegan Kids. Love your writing sooo sooo much!

You can vote for moe than one! You just have to refresh the page and the poll will reappear – as many times as you like. ;-)

I’m planning a lot of vegan kid-specific kid stuff coming up, including a series on zoos and zoo alternatives. Glad to know it’s wanted! =)

  • http://bonzaiaphrodite.com/ Sayward Rebhal

Interesting. Technology and a toddler is a tough one, people can be so judgy! I’ll think about how to write about this. What sort of stuff in regards to time management?

  • http://bonzaiaphrodite.com/ Sayward Rebhal

Oh man, I quit doing outfit stuff because I feel like my style is so weird and NOT trendy or even appealing to most people, haha. I’ll rethink that, and we’ll see how many other people are interested in weirdo Sayward fashion . . .

  • http://bonzaiaphrodite.com/ Sayward Rebhal

    Definitely coming up!

  • http://bonzaiaphrodite.com/ Sayward Rebhal

Yeah, that’s a tricky subject. Something that is near and dear to my heart for sure, but a tricky subject nonetheless. I’ll think about this. In the meantime, do you read the Our Hen House blog and Choosing Raw? They both write abut these subject, OHH more so than CR, but when Gena does write about veganism/animal rights, it’s always amazing. =)

    Hey Say!

I miss fashion posts. I really like foodstuff too though and the tutorials. Maybe more vegan beauty! I found the site through your home-made deodorant recipe. I can’t get enough of that stuff.

I’ve got to say though, something that’s really been bothering me is that every time I’m on the site, Google Chrome tries to translate your page from “German to English.” It just ends up screwing up your perfectly fine English. I’ve reported it just about every time I’m on the site but it’s driving me nuts. Is this happening to anyone else?

  • http://bonzaiaphrodite.com/ Sayward Rebhal

Ooh you’ll have so much fun up there! It’s amazing especially this time of year. =)

  • http://bonzaiaphrodite.com/ Sayward Rebhal

    Awesome, thanks!

  • http://bonzaiaphrodite.com/ Sayward Rebhal

    YES! =D

  • http://bonzaiaphrodite.com/ Sayward Rebhal

Aw, thank you Sandra. That is awesome to hear. ♥

  • http://bonzaiaphrodite.com/ Sayward Rebhal

    Thanks!

  • http://bonzaiaphrodite.com/ Sayward Rebhal

Thank you so much Lindsay! ♥

  • http://bonzaiaphrodite.com/ Sayward Rebhal

Hmm, I stopped doing outfit stuff because my style is so weird and sort of sloppy/scrappy (which I love, but I think most people do not) and I figured I wasn’t *FASHION* enough to be doing fashion posts. Maybe I’ll rethink that? I’m definitely open!

  • Kristen

I second (or third or seventh, whatever number we are on ) more fashion! I love seeing people’s styles it always inspires me to stay true to my own unique style! Also love, love, love your vegan/DIY tutorials especially beauty! Those are my two cents…thank you for you beautiful blog! If you didn’t change a thing I would still love it!

  • Penelope

I’ve had the same problem with Chrome asking to translate from German. I’ve also reported it a few times and it still asks every time!!

  • Rachel Wigginton

I love the blog! I really like the food stuff and DIY. I second the person below wanting more vegan/DIY beauty. Keep up the amazing work!

  • http://windycityvegan.wordpress.com/ Monika {windycityvegan}

    Yes yes yes yes yes!!

  • http://windycityvegan.wordpress.com/ Monika {windycityvegan}

weirdo Sayward fashion rocks, lady! I second all of the “more fashion posts” requests. :)

  • Adrienne

I would love to see how you’ve set up/decorated your little home :) I, too, live in a smaller, older home and I’d love to see how you’ve set yours up on a budget. I’m tired of “magazine-perfect” home tours and I bet yours has some real character! Also, I wanted to thank you for the post you did on your health struggles. It inspired me to see a naturopath for the first time and it has changed my life for real. Thank you :)

  • http://twitter.com/shauna_joy shauna joy

i think the existing balance is pretty well awesome, though my personal fave is the how-tos, i have quite a few of them bookmarked (btw, a how to guide by you is totally a book i would buy)

  • Linda E

I voted several times! I am new to your blog and still trying to get everything read. I love your rustic views on gardening; food; life!! I love seeing your pics and your son is beautiful (like you, BTW). I am an old gal and overweight so if I followed the fashion, there is a very good chance they would put me away! lol you younguns look great though. You are truly the reason that I started to eat more healthy. And it is rubbing off on my granddaughters and daughter! I am so thankful I stumbled into you! Thank you so much. I check everyday hoping there will be a new message.

I would love more time management & home decor stuff, as well as how to’s. Basically how to have your shit together and the logistics of how to squeeze so many different passions into life! I’m pretty caught up in academia and I have a hard time planning to make things happen, like soaking the beans ahead of time, etc if that makes sense. You do a lot of awesome things so I would love to know how you do it, especially while feeling down. Also, your place looks like the cottage of my dreams, would love to see a post on it :) So happy you’re back!

  • http://dresseduplikealady.com/ Cammila

If I’m not careful, I’m gonna end up re-submitting this poll again and again with every single answer. That can’t be helpful…..

I guess what it means though, is I really enjoy all these areas of interest from you, and more of just about any of them would make me very happy. :)

Also, I’m not even kidding: I posted more 90′s inspired fashion today. Found the slouchiest jeans EVER MADE. I always heard that if you were on board for a fashion trend the first time around, you won’t dig it when it becomes retro. What a lie!!! ;)

  • jill

I think you should disregard the poll and just put in whatever seems right at the time! :) Regardless of whether it’s fashion, food, craftiness, thoughts on your relationships, or just a photo celebration of your beautiful new community (lucky!) there is something for us to enjoy and learn. (And if not, tough…we can write our own damn blogs if we wish it was another way).

Also, I’m glad it’s not super kid-focused. I have two little ones, and while I’m very, very close to them, I didn’t lose Me just because I’m constantly with them (sometimes, often, 24 hrs a day!) I can’t stand it that whenever I meet someone else with kids (and it seems that the only people I meet these days are mothers) all they can talk about is what Junior did, blah blah blah. (Not that I’m minding the Waits-related photos and stories–they’re not smothering your blog, and it’s fun to see how he grows up as mine do too).

So just keep doing your thing!

I just went to the big cat rescue in Tampa and about died~ I will never take a kid to a zoo again, this was such an enriching experience.

I’d love more raising vegan family/kids posts. Im a newbie vegan mama.

  • Sarah C

I voted but I agree with many of the commenters that we just like you and what you choose to put up here for us to read and see (your pics are lovely, by the way). One thing I am always interested in reading more about everywhere is health and the health-related aspects of our food choices. I enjoyed your first posts back about reclaiming your health and I’d love to see updates on that – how you’re doing, what you eat to manage any symptoms left, and stuff like that. (On a personal note, I’m interested in one aspect of the health struggle I don’t recall hearing the resolution to – the blood sugar swings; was there something specific in your naturopath’s plan that addressed that issue?)

  • katia

I LOVE all your post but I miss the stuff about what you feed Waits since I have an 18 month old munchkin that I am raising vegan… but overall I’m sure I’ll love anything you post :)

  • katia

Oh, yes!!! Vegan toddlers pleaseeeeee :)

  • Scaredofeverything

You’re Nailing It, The Balance Is Perfect Already. ;-)

  • Nat Smith

You have a perfect balance! Im loving every honest post!!! Thank you!! I really appreciate the veg/toddler stuff especially :)

  • Kathryn B.

<3 your blog!! I'm a reader so I would love to see post all the time, like 10 a day, but hey, that's just me :) I love how you mix it up between personal life, pics, food, and so on. Just keep being you. If you write it, they will come!
