We got a dog this fall (an adult from a shelter), and I can’t believe we didn’t do it earlier – she’s such an integral member of our family already, and a source of much delight.

I’m sorry the fires and mudslides were so scary for your family – I can’t imagine how bad that must have been for low-income and low-mobility folks! eek.
