Yes! That’s a great way to put it — the juxtaposition between the cramped long sweaty car ride, and then the retreat into the vast serenity of nature. Sounds like you had similar experiences growing up, and I love that so many people share that kind of memory!

There is something so satisfying about being cramped in a car for several hours, and then spend several days enjoying nature. I always would drive 10+ hours with my family up to Maine, and then spend the next week just hiking up mountains, mountain biking, and looking a tide pools. The car ride helped me learn to entertain myself.
