I enjoy reading your posts and your book…. I’m a mom of one and one-on-the-way, and started the switch to vegan this last year. Its hard since I live in the middle-of-nowhere, Texas, and have absolutely no support. Its so nice to read about others living this lifestyle, and learning how to be better at it :)

All-around grade-A badass friends are the best. I’ve been fortunate enough to have the same best friend by my side to see me through all of my adult crises. And the non-crises. She’s basically my platonic lifemate. :)

Essex! My favorite park in Portland. =)

I had Waits sit on my lap for the haircut. So I sat in the chair and then he sat on me. The stylist was great (it was at the Bishops on Hawethorne and her name was Kenzy? I think?) and talked to him the whole time, it actually wasn’t so hard. But that was the one and only hair cut he’s ever gotten, so I only have the one experience.

Sebastion’s hair is so cute, I love it long!

Oh I miss all of Waits’ beautiful curls…although I am sure for the summertime he enjoyed the shorter do.
It is always good to have someone you can talk to, who isn’t in the mix of it (i.e. husband, parents, etc). You need that unbiased third party.
Jo sounds phenomenal and high five for opening up to her!

I have some pictures of Sebastian at that park from last summer – We’ve only been once, but he loved that water area too! Also, I’m so jealous of your hot pink picnic blanket… We have the exact same one except that it shrunk up in the wash. :( :(

Any tips for getting kids to sit still for haircuts? Sebastian’s hair is gorgeous but the real reason it’s so long is that I’m scared he’ll squirm mid-cut and it will end up butchered. (I’m not opposed to long hair but it gets in his eyes and he refuses a headband.)
