Just FYI, lactic acid is vegan, it is not derive from milk (confusing, I know!). If I’m eating at a restaurant I just ask the waitperson for assistance. They should be able to tell you the ingredients of everything. If there’s anything that’s questionable I’m happy to skip it. Really, it’s only one meal and I certainly won’t starve! =D

I read this in his bio and it rings SO true of my younger self: “I could barely walk for a week afterwards, so naturally I signed up for the London Marathon.”

If you have the desire to run a half- or full marathon, you just need to be willing to take the longview and you can pretty much achieve anything!

The last marathon I ran was just a few months before I got pregnant (I was training for my next one when I conceived and was high risk, so had to stop running distances over ten miles). Nina did a lot of damage to my pelvis and I was told that I probably wouldn’t ever run so much as an 8K ever again. BUT, I just got the green light from my doc to run a full 26.2 miles so before I balked at the notion of re-training this middle-aged body of mine to run that far again, I plunked down my eighty-five bucks and come November I’m running my first post-baby marathon!
