Great question! It's basically just a way to maximize veggie intake. Because you strip away the fiber, you can "eat" a lot more vegetables, and therefor get a lot more vitamins and minerals, without your stomach getting too full from all the bulk. Basically, a green smoothie that's 16 oz may have a banana and some berries and a couple cups of spinach, but a 16 oz green juice could have 2 cucumbers, an entire head of kale, an entire head of parsley, 6 celery stalks, etc. You can get fit a lot more in when you remove the fiber!

In my diet I get plenty of fiber, so I don't worry about it. For others, if you feel like you're not getting enough fiber, then green smoothies may be a better choice. Bottom line, they're both so good for you!

Ok, I know I'm a little late but here it goes....

My love list centers around my husband.

1) sending me flowers at work just to say he loves me.

2) Talking to my parents about keeping the kids one night this week so that we can have a date night.

3) Telling my parents how much I mean to him.

LOVE! Nothing in this world more perfect then the love from a spouse. This love grows into so much more when you bringing kids into the world together. And then you are blessed with more love everyday you wake up to your wonderful family. May all of you be blessed with much love this Christmas Season and every day after!

Hey there, long-time reader, first-time commenter :). I have a question about juice vs smoothies. Are you worried about missing out on fiber by drinking juices? I would assume smoothies would have all the same vitamins *plus* fiber, and would therefore be preferable?

Ahh, the law school saga continues! So, I thought that the hardest part would be taking the LSAT (and it was no picnic, studying before dawn five mornings a week off and on for almost a year). BUT, it seems that getting my letters of recommendation in a timely manner is reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaally holding things up. Grrrr! The people who have offered to write my letters are the two people I want letters from the most, but they're just so freaking busy! So now I have two options: 1) Press them for an already-late letter which may end up being sub par if they rush to finish it in haste; or 2) get the letters when I get them, but delay my applications by another year and get everything in on Day One of the application cycle in 2012.

Most schools have a rolling admissions policy, so I'm already walking a thin line by waiting this long. All of *my* stuff has been sent to the centralized agency that coordinates all law school applications, so as soon as they have both letters my entire application file will be sent to all of the schools I've chosen. But do I really want to be that late with my applications when I know they've already been making decisions and sending out acceptance letters? And then there's the scholarship money issue . . .

Lewis and Clark is TOP of my list for out of state schools! In fact, there is only one other school (that I know of) that has an animal law division. And I'd much rather move to Portland than Michigan, if given a choice.

Way too much information? I guess the short answer is that I may hold off applying to L&C until next fall, because it's in my best favor. My LSAT score was quite good, but I can't ignore the fact that I'm a non-traditional student, either. Either way, though, I'm getting excited about going to law school *some* day soon! In the big scheme of things, one more year is not that long to wait.
