I think that the cute tiny cake looks like a yellow candle, that smells like coconut-curry (one of my favorite food smells) and you have burned it for a couple of hours, that’s why it’s a bit melted but the room smells great now and the warm light is calming and you feel totally relaxed.
Oh dessert stories, how I love to make them up.

I was a bridesmaid in a wedding this weekend—the foodie highlight was definitely the cocktail hour, where they had all kinds of fabulous roasted veggies for the antipasto.

I’m not gonna lie, the open bar was also a highlight. As I’d just broken up with a longterm boyfriend a few days earlier and was alternating between whiskey and champagne—water in between of course ; )

PS – I need your advice on getting my little guy to eat Coconut Cream. He *gags* when I offer it to him: Straight up, mixed with bananas or mixed with raspberries. (Although sometimes I can spread it on his toast and he doesn’t notice.) I know that Waits is a big fan. Any suggestions?

I totally understand. I am going to be attending a vegan thanksgiving potluck and have been carefully planning what shoes to wear. It is hard. I wish other people (vegans and non) could understand my predicament. I would love to trade all my leather items for cruelty free alternatives, but I’m living on rice and beans at the moment so that isn’t going to happen anytime soon. I have found a few vegans online who support me and that really helps. I’m still a baby vegan, so small steps first.
