Great post. I often have people who eat no meat on my safaris to East Africa and they have never found it challenging. There is so much fresh organic fruit and veggys at all the lodges it’s easy to be raw too. Lori at AfricaInside.org

@Valerie: Don’t know about Netherlands…the land of cheeeeeeeese, but I know that in Germany there live a lot of Vegans, every major city has at least one vegetarian restaurant, that also serve vegan dishes, RAW might be a problem at the moment as there was a severe outbreak of EHEC, which was found on shoots and salads…

This was wonderful! I’m currently studying abroad in France, and being vegan in the land of butter, butter, and more butter has been . . . interesting, to say the least. It is possible, however! I’ve written a bit about my experiences over at my blog. I will say, though, that my time here has made me appreciate all the more the foodie resources I have back in the States, and I will be glad to return home. Less than a month now! :D
