@Moira - I'm so jealous! I can't find a decent Bikram studio around here at all and have had to settle for taking classes once or twice a year when I travel back home to Chicago. I am also so totally impressed at five days in one week - you are my new yoga superhero. :D

I love the conversation here!

@ Felicity - Happy Earth Day to you too - hope it was a good one. And that restaurant sounds great, you should take yourself out for your birthday. =)

@ erosan - Sorry that your week has been meh. I think next week will be full of awesome!

@ Selah - What kind of tips/links are you looking for? Like on being vegan? Wasn't quite sure what you were asking for specifically - sorry!

@ Alexander - First, I'm super sorry about this late response. I meant to answer your question on the Facebook page and then got totally caught up, it's so rare I go on FB these days. Anyways, bad excuses, I'm sorry!

That said, erosan gave the *exact* same advice I was going to give. To me, it sounds like you have a VERY serious addiction to caffeine and quite possibly a simultaneous sugar problem (from the pop and if you sweeten the coffee, then that too) Quitting both the physical and mental/emotional addiction at the same time might be too much. Moving to tea will a) give the caffeine but in a different, mellower sort of experience, and b) allow you to manage the mental/emotional stuff first. Once you have transitioned to tea and gotten it somewhat under control, then you can begin to taper off. You will have the internal strength to maintain your stability and resist the urge for more caffeine, once you are less mentally/emotionally dependent on it. It sounds to me like quitting cold turkey right now would just be too horrible.

I know it's not what you were hoping for, but addiction's addiction and it sucks. Believe me, I KNOW. I quit smoking and it was the hardest thing I'd ever done. But you can do it! You really can. We can be your support system if you need it. =)

Luck!

@ Monika - SO rad that your family is along for the raw ride. And yay, congrats about the Celiac test! I'll be crossing my fingers for your upcoming results.

@ Moira - Ooh! Have so much fun with your new juicer!

@ RK - Congrats on going back to schol, that's great (and I'm a bit jealous!) When you say African tea do you mean rooibos? I <3 that stuff and just threw some into a batch of kombucha for the first time!

@ Virginia - Congrats to your daughter! Damian and I both left high school at 16. Way to go for her getting on with her life! =D Hope the party went well and wasn't too much work!

@ Beens - That was one of the most amazing effects I felt when going vegan, and it was totally unexpected. What an emotional, empathetic awakening! Thanks for reminding me of that. =)

@ Lindsay - One semester down, congrats! Hope your holiday was great. Hooray for getting family on the green-drinking band wagon. Yay!

Le Love for this week:

1) First semester of business school will be finished next week! Wow that went by fast and I'm SO glad I made the decision to go back to school. MBA here I come! ;)

2) My seedlings are lookin' like your seedlings! The leaves are opening and they are stretching their little seed necks towards the sunshine. Plants make me smile. More than I ever thought they would.

3) Loving being surrounded by family this week for the holiday. There have been lots of smiles, hugs and good stories are being shared. More than anything I love that I made a huge batch of green juice this morning and everyone tried it! woohoo! :)

1) The way my body is embracing so many positive changes: more plants, more raw foods, less alcohol, less meat and dairy; not only the physical differences (glowing skin, energy, calm) but the emotional - seriously, I'm increasingly blown away and I can't wait to see where this takes me :)

2) My awesome friends - a friend's planned hospital birth turned into an unplanned unassisted birth with her husband doing the catching as they wouldn't have made it in a cab. Everything worked out well, I'm so in awe of them right now

3) The Art of Loving by Erich Fromm. I cannot wait to read this, just over 100 pages, I think I'm going to devour it

For me -
1. My daughter. We are having a Graduation party for her tomorrow. She is 16 and received her GED and started college in Graphic Design. Very proud of her and love her lots.
2. We found some new (to us anyway) gluten free products from Udi. Udi is our favorite brand. Daughter has Celiac Disease so has to be gluten free and Udi's is pretty awesome. We found hamburger and hotdog buns. So nice. And we also splurged and got some gluten free chocolate donuts. I don't think she has had a donut in 3 years.
3. Knowing that I will be seeing family and friends tomorrow at the party. That makes it worth all the work that I have to do yet today. :D

Have a great weekend all!
