Ahhhh, I'm so behind on comments and emails! Many apologies my friends. I'm so excited about being back that I've been focused on blogging every. single. day. And subsequently, I've fallen behind. Please know that I read and love each comment and email and I DO respond to all questions . . . eventually! *gulp*

@ erosan - In raw food cuisine the definition of raw is that it cannot be heated above 105-118 degrees (depending on who you ask). So although foods prepared in the dehydrator "lose water", they are not *heated* and thus their enzymes are still "living" (ie dehydrated seeds wil still sprout = still alive! Raw ice cream is entirely plant based (usually nuts) and has simply never been heated above 105-118 degrees.

@ zannie - I was also never a food person until I went vegan. Then I began cooking for myself and trying SO MANY new foods and all of a sdden this whole amazing world opened up to me. And, zomg first avocado! What did you think??

@ Meghan #1 - You know, I think it depends more on the brand than on the type. I've been really happy with the BumGenius one-size, but also with their size larges now that Waits is big enough. I know a friend who was using their X-small for a long time because that's the only thing that fit her wee one. On the contrast, I haven't been happy with any of the G-diapers (sized) or some other brands of one-size. I think it's the quality of the brand that matters, and what works for your baby (they're all shaped differently!)

@ Meghan #2 - Eeeek! Very exciting. Companion site should be around the similar time frame, probably a little sooner. And did I say *early* summer? Yeah . . . we'll see how that goes. I'm learning that EVERYTHING TAKES LONGER in publishing. Yeesh!

@ Joselle - Mmm, coconut bacon. Want. Also that essay was SPECTACULAR. I listened to it during dinner prep and then listened to the whole thing again the next day. So good.

EVERYBODY - CLICKY THAT LINK AND LISTEN! =D

@ Tes - yay, so glad you like it here. And dud, you're going to *love* my next web project!

@ Dana - Wow, I just realized how long it's been since I did any fashion posts. Man, too much to say and not enough time. I'll work on it!

LOVE YOU GUYS!

Love list!

1. Nina ran her first 5k this weekend. It was awesome!

2. Heat and humidity are *finally* in the forecast. I didn't move to the South for the food, y'all, I moved here for the weather.

3. Sewing for my little munchkin. Repurposing fabric into (little) sundresses is ridiculously easy and I found some great prints when I was thrifting.

1.Waking up to a free bird-concert every morning. The only reason I love spring, because I am seriously allergic to sunlight and heat. But I wouldn't want to miss the birds every morning!
2.Trying out new recipes I find online: tried a peanutbutter-banana shake yesterday... so yummie!
3.Evening knitting, while watching the sun go down.... so relaxing!

I do have a question for you: are you going to do any more fashion updates? I love your style of clothing, it is an inspiration to me!

@Joselle: I think your comment was spot on... It IS too sunny to stay outside 'round here... we've had a whole week of 40 something degrees (maxing at 42 last Thursday, IIRC.

And the weather forecast foresees a whole week of 38+ degrees (that is over 100 for all you Fahrenheit users)

Ok, so I felt guilty because I have been reading your blog (catching up!) for a few months and haven't said anything (I RARELY comment on blogs, but yours is special!). I have the only vegan baby (toddler now!) that I know and I have so appreciated your posts about what you are doing for your little guy and have learned a few new things that I have incorporated into his/our diet! Thank you so much and keep it up!

Oh, I missed the love list!!!
1) THE SUN, I think here in Europe we are actually skipping spring and diving straight into summer....
2) all the lovely long walks with the dog and the wee man outside....so glad the long and cold winter has come to an end
3) all the great veg, fruits and herbs you can now get at the markets...not just the wrinkled winter stuff...
4) baby not waking every two hours for a feed anymore but since this week only once per night....yeah our little man rocks!
5) all that sleep (cause of point 4 of love list) lets us think of a "maybe-baby no. two" ;-)

Ok, last comment. Have any of you ever had coconut bacon? I love the smoked coconut tofu club at the Philly gastropub, Memphis Taproom (www.memphistaproom.com) and fell in love. I just really came across this recipe for coconut bacon (http://veganbrew.com/2010/12/05/coconut-bacon/) and, although I haven't tried it yet, it sounds and looks delicious. Sound weird? No, it's scrumptious!
