Aw, thanks everyone for all the awesome birthday wishes. You guys make me feel very loved. =)

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend! I was sick with a tummy bug (boo!) but I did see some great movies (yay!) - Black Swan and Howl (and Ali, which I'd never seen before) Anyways, happy Monday!

@ Meghan - I was just wondering where you were! Glad you had a good time in p-town, and omg that train ride home must have been epic with a bucket of donuts. I am SO glad to hear you're feeling well again. YAY! New beginnings for the new year. =)

@ Melisa - There's a lot of varying opinion on supplements, and mine is just one among them. But I'm definitely a 'better to err on the side of caution' person. I don't think it reflects poorly on my dietary choices to take sups, because I think EVERYBODY should take sups. Our soil is depleted and our food quality just isn't what it used to be.

So, I take a multi, D2, DHA, and extra B12 (it's also in my multi). I think all vegans should be taking B12 and pretty much everyone should be taking D and DHA. The multi is insurance, especially ince I'm breastfeeding. Different people may need different sups. Omnis tend to get less vitamin C, vitamin E, fiber, phytonutrients and antioxidants. Some veg*ns may want more calcium or iron or zinc. It really depends on diet.

But if that sounds overwhelming, just focus on B12 and D and DHA, and eat your greens, and know that you'll be just fine. =)

@ Darciefaro - Firstly, congrats on the cloth diapering! But honestly, I haven't changed much since writing those articles. That's a bummer about the diaper rash though, poor baby! The best thing I've found for diaper rash is plenty of time to air dry especially after baths, even in between changes if you can manage. Lots of naked baby time! It really does wonders. Also I swear by the Earth Mama Angel Baby bottom balm, it is like magic!

Good luck! Anyone else with any tips feel free to chime in!

@ Melissa L. - No gulps! One of the most awesome women I know just turned 40. From what I can tell, it just keeps getting better and better. We're like fine wine. =)

@ sanne - Ooh, thanks for the book rec!

~~~
Happy week to all of you!!!
My love list for this weekend:
1. Friday met some new vegans via Meetup.com
2. Saturday harvested over 250 pounds of oranges from 2 houses in my community with the group Food Not Lawns to donate to refugees.
3. Sunday went on a hike with a friend who has recently returned from college. We saw running water. In San Diego! I lived here about 24 years before I knew there was a river. Sometimes I am really unobservant.
Happy birthday Sayward! I love reading your blog. I get so much inspiration and have implemented many monthly missions in my home! I was wondering if you could re-visit your cloth diaper post? Have you changed anything about your routine or learned any tips you could pass along? I've been cloth diapering for about 12 weeks but my son has a diaper rash that won't go away. I'm curious about things you've learned along your journey, and/or if other readers have more to add on the topic!
