I did something very similar except that I allowed non-glutinous grains (quinoa and brown rice only) right from the start and omitted all forms of sugar for the entire 6 weeks. The latter has been THE most challenging thing I have ever done in terms of food consumption! I can't even imagine what my first bite of something sweeter than a carrot or acorn squash - which already taste very sweet to me right now! - will do to me!

Oh, if ever you visit Seattle again, check out this guy: http://www.houseofthesunrawfood.com/index.html
You make some pretty amazing raw dishes but, since I've never had the honor of trying anything, I can honestly say that Adam makes the most delicious raw food I have ever had!!

Oh! And one last thing...I ordered two or your lovely calendars on 10/31. Do you know when I might expect them. Thanks!

@ Kelly H. - Well, I did it modified for breastfeeding. I didn't want to detox while breastfeeding!

I was pretty strict for 2 weeks. After that I added back ONE grain - quinoa, which is actually technically a seed - and infrequent legumes (black beans, white beans made into dip, lentils) no more than a few times a week. Also added rare starchier veggies like carrots and sweet potatoes, but rare.

After three weeks I introduced low-glycemic fruits (berries) because I missed my green smoothies sooo bad. Blueberry-spinach-almond milk smoothies. =) It's crazy how sweet stuff tastes at this point!

A few weeks later I added back in natural sweeteners - agave and maple syrup. I stayed like that (low grain, infrequent natural sweeteners, low starch) for a few months.

It totally worked. I also felt healthier than I've ever felt before. Learned a lot about my physiology that way!

How long were you on the cleanse? I am on my 6th and FINAL week... Whew! I desperately miss my sweets most of all.

@ Kelly H. - Actually I put coconut oil on my cornbread, which is TOTALLY candida cleanse-friendly. It's an antifungal! I adore it on everything and it's so much better for you than Earthbalance. =)

Good luck with everything, I did that this year and it ain't easy, but it WORKS!

I am eating chili as I type (I'm skilled), but no cornbread is allowed on the Candida Cleanse, so I am looking upon that part of your picture with longing! With Earth Balance, yes? *sigh* I have not had Earth Balance in 5 weeks either!
