@ Melisa - It's an ethical decision. Same as with myself, if I don't *have* to contribute to animal suffering in order to feed my dogs, than I feel like it would be wrong for me to do so. And as you know, dogs are not obligate carnivores like cats are. They are true omnivores, actually opportunistic scavengers just exactly like people. They don't require meat any more than we do! =D

So I'm taking it slow and so far they're responding really well. We'll see how it all pans out!

As a vet tech, I'm curious as to why you'd want to transition a dog to a vegan diet. I guess you'll probably explain when you blog the experience, eh?

@ Tine - Harvesting seeds totally depends on the species. I have a few tutorials if you look back through the farm posts. Cukes and squashes are both pretty similar and pretty easy - remove seeds, rinse, dry out thoroughly (in sun is best but any warm-not-hot place will do) and then save. Pretty straightforward! =D

For strawberries you don't save the seeds, you propagate them asexually. I wrote an article about it here if you're interested. Luck!

@ CBR - My dogs are not currently veg*n, but I'm finally (FINALLY) in the process of transitioning them. Yay! I'm really excited about it and plan to blog a lot about the whole process. Coming soon!

@ Nathalie - Love it! And I seriously LOVE that photo, haha. I'll promote the contest in this week's Friday Feedback Forum. =)

Things I am LOVING so far this week;

1.Having *finally* finished decorating my room and having a tonne of stuff to donate to the charity shops

2.Re-working loads of non-veg*n slow cooker recipes to be full of veg*n awesomeness!

3.Achieving a certain degree of 'zen' about my housemate/living situation...stress free is much better :)

OOH, and one extra one...having harvested about 5 kg of elderberries from around where I live to turn into delicious wine and jam!

I have a question that I've been wondering about for a while. What kind of pet food do you use for your dogs? Are they v*gan as well?
