@ Jackie – The website calls it a ‘safe, non-toxic solution’. And it appears that the binder coats the newspaper, so it won’t rub off on your fingers. Check out the website! – there’s a bunch of info and videos and stuff.

is the binding agent “green” as well?

and do they turn your fingers black like touching regular newspaper does?

I found a cool little store that sells pencils made from reclaimed currency AND from reclaimed denim. They work well AND they make fabulous gifts for co-workers and acquaintances.
