@ sarah - I have been getting a LOT of questions about soy, and it's making me realize that I need to write an article already. So, that's definitely on the way. For now I'll say that relying primarily on any one food is a bad thing, and since soy is in everything these days, you might as well try to limit our intake a bit. BUT, I haven't been convinced (and oh, how they have tried) that soy is OMG EVIL, at all. I still eat tofu and tempeh. I have a couple of servings of soy a week and I'm not AT ALL concerned. I hope that answers your question a bit, until I can write a feature article.

As for Sally Fallon (and the Weston A Price foundation, I caution you to approach their work with very open eyes. I am extremely skeptical of this group, and their agenda. Just my 0.02

@ Dylan - Thanks man! I hope to always bring it back to nature. =D

@ Randy - Thanks! Luckily fashion is what I cover the least, haha, so you should be okay. ;) Look forward to seeing you around the site!

Man, I found this site thanks to Lifehacker (http://lifehacker.com/5304684/homemade-drano-without-the-harsh-chemicals), and I've already added it to my feed reader. The fashion side of it doesn't really appeal to me, but I'm trying to eat a little healthier (LOVE hummus by the way), so I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Hey, what do you say! I think the farm is what ties it all together. Having been a farmer, a vegetarian and being interested in culture and beauty/aesthetics (child of artists) I actually have lived those connections and believe them to be quite profound. Also why I like your site, so I say, yes bring it back to nature and the person/plant/animal interface where it all makes sense (or becomes beautiful, your pick!). The Green Man.

i am curious to get your take on soy. it seems to me that rather than just going raw, people substitute soy for everything they don't want to give up. in moderation i'm sure it's fine, but say you eat tofu, soy yogurt, and drink soy milk on a daily basis. supposedly that's good for you, but the stuff i've been hearing lately claims otherwise. mainly because of the phytoestrogen factor... but a multitude of other reasons.

there's a very informative article at http://healingcrow.com/soy/soy.html and i would be interested to hear what you think. especially given your scientific background... i love studying that type of thing, but i'm not trained in it, so i'm sure there's a lot you can read between the lines that i don't even notice.

along those lines, one of the authors of the article (Sally Fallon) wrote a book titled "Nourishing Traditions" that i was told to read by a friend i greatly respect. i was curious if you had read it and what your thoughts were. i'm still trying to get through the China Study, 1000 Habits of Successful Freelance Designers, Dave Ramsey, a book of Jewish studies and my GDUSA and dwell magazines so it could be a while before i pick that one up ;)

you're awesome.
